Meet the Organizers

Andriy Polyvka

Andriy Polyvka is an internationally recognized DanceSport leader, adjudicator, and event organizer with more than two decades of experience in the field. He served as the President of the All-Ukrainian DanceSport Federation from 2015 to March 2025, successfully leading the organization through a decade of growth, reform, and international recognition.

Under his leadership, the Federation organized around 100 major international events, including the WDSF World Championships in 2019 and the DanceSport European Championship in 2021, which brought together athletes from nearly 40 countries, as well as the first-ever DanceSport Europe Children Grand Prix Final of the Year in 2017 (Lviv, Ukraine).

Andriy is a WDSF A-licensed Adjudicator and a certified Chairperson, qualified to officiate at the highest levels of international competition. He has adjudicated at more than 170 international WDSF competitions, including multiple World and European Championships, and has served as Chairperson at over 30 high-level international events across more than 20 countries.

He also served as a State Coach at Ukraine’s Ministry of Youth and Sports and as a member of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine from 2019 to 2025, making a significant contribution to the preparation of the national team for major world events such as the World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama, and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Now based in California, Andriy continues to promote DanceSport development through education, coaching, and international collaboration. As the organizer of the California DanceSport Grand Prix (launched in 2024 under the theme “Where Dancers Shine and Dreams Take Flight”), he brings his global expertise and deep passion for dance to create a world-class event that unites dancers of all ages and levels, and aims to make it an annual tradition.

Led by President Christopher Li and Vice President Karlis Trejis, this renewed Bay Area chapter aims to provide accessible events, instruction, and resources to local dancers that promote the benefits and value of social and competitive ballroom dancing. They are comprised of a board of both amateur and professional dancers who have this shared goal of serving and building the dance community by sharing resources and hosting events.
